Moms Demand Action, a reported Bloomberg front group, has positioned grieving father Richard Martinez in front of a new political action campaign called “Not One More.” Martinez, whose son was killed in the recent UC Santa Barbara mass murder, is calling for everyone to send post cards to any elected official they can think of to demand, “Not One More” death from gun violence, and to call for “common sense” gun control laws.
While I respect the tragedy of this man’s loss, he has placed himself in the public arena, and his calls for absolute security need to be examined beyond the emotion of his son’s death. In the immediate aftermath of the killings, Mr. Martinez stated, “Chris died because of craven, irresponsible politicians and the NRA. They talk about gun rights.
